All above 60 years of age, 45-plus with other illnesses to get Covid-19 vaccine from March 1


  • Everyone over 60 years of age and those over 45 years of age and with other illnesses will be able to get Covid-19 vaccine free at government facilities and at many private hospitals by giving fee from March 1.

  • Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, announcing the next phase of India’s vaccination drive, said a proposal to that effect was approved at a meeting of the Cabinet of the Union, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

  • While the vaccine will be given free of charge at government centres, it will be available at many private hospitals, to be decided later, for a fee," the minister said at a post-Cabinet media briefing here."
